Q-I have a 1967 A100, but instead of putting in a V8, I want to build a 225 six cylinder with 250 plus horse power just to be a little different. If anyone can help me In getting parts or information on building a "killer" 225.
A-Here is a company that can help you go fast your Leaning Tower of Power. Good luck.
Q-I know a 360 will fit in an A100, but can I put in a 383 or 392?
As the Dodge A100 did have a V8 option( 273 and LA318) the engine bay has plenty of room for a big block. I have a 1970 with a 400 and a 727 trans from a 78 Monaco. It went together with no problems. I have seen these vans or pickups with 440's in them without modifications to the body because there are no crossmembers under the engine or trans. If you wish to convert a slant six or small block to a big block, you use 63-65 Dodge/Plymouth conversion kit, which includes the block mounts and small block insulators. It slips right in. I recommend thatyou use 440 or 400 exhaust manifolds with rear dumps on them for clearance sake.

Q. I just removed a 125 pound cast iron weight that was located behind the gas tank in my 1967 dodge A-100 pickup. What was it there for?
A. I believe it is there to get some weight in the back to help get more traction!
